Nazlet Ebeid Village
In August 2020, a transfer amount of $20,000 was received from our CEO, Sobhi Boktor, to kickstart the project. Nazlet Abeid Village was selected for the center after a thorough study in September and October 2020 due to its large population of people with disabilities. Training sessions resulted in targeting 12 individuals with disabilities, followed by meetings in December 2020 to explore opportunities. Finalizing the center's location in Nazlet Ubaid Village that same month involved assessments to ensure alignment with the needs of people with disabilities.
Setting up
Remodeling, including plastering, tiling, plumbing, and painting, was completed from January to February 2021. A sewing technician and supervisor were trained in bag making, and necessary materials were procured from December to January. Final touches were finished in March 2021, alongside acquiring site preparation tools. Village-based training for the work team began in March, with the unit officially opening in April 2021.
The Mission
The center's mission is to provide comprehensive support and rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, focusing on vocational training, skill development, and community integration. Providers undergo extensive training, including specialized workshops and comprehensive sessions, to ensure high-quality care and empower individuals with disabilities towards independence and inclusion in society.
Future Work
The center intends to sustain its operations through funding and partnerships, while adapting programs to evolving needs. Expansion plans may include outreach strategies and satellite facilities. Continuous evaluation will ensure effectiveness and long-term sustainability in fostering inclusivity for individuals with disabilities.
